Add Oklahoma Gov. Mary Fallin to the list of well-known people (well, at least in Oklahoma!) to undergo arthroscopic hip surgery. The 56-year-old Republican governor had surgery on her left hip (same as me!) last month (ditto!) and is now recovering at her mansion (O.K., she wins!). Fallin told newsok.com that her hip had been bothering her for years, but the pain grew worse after her inauguration in January.

Most athletes have experienced a “second wind,” that jolt of energy and strength that allows us, enervated and dispirited, to carry on. But sometimes our bodies cannot recover on their own – we need outside help so we can catch our “third wind.”
